Information / Counseling / Referrals
This service helps handicapped persons and family
members to make decisions on what to do first and where to get help.
The people that call us want to know where to start in the jungle
of health and rehabilitation agencies. We try to give them the information
they need to find a solution for themselves or a family member.
Last year, we conducted 151 telephone interviews,
125 counseling calls, and made referrals to 244 other agencies.
Our services included:
Information
for:
handicapped Individuals, family
members, friends, public and
private agencies, and business and industrial personnel.
Counseling for:
Handicapped individuals and family members.
Referrals to:
Medical, health, rehabilitation, education,
religious, commercial organizations, support groups, and associations.
This is accomplished by:
- Communicating, cooperating, and sharing
with governmental and private agencies on a worldwide basis.
- Obtaining educational, financial, and
electronic equipment resources from corporations and governmental
organizations that are willing to invest in underdeveloped skills
of physically challenged persons.
- Meeting face-to-face with schools and
individuals to foster understanding and friendship. These meetings
can lead to better training programs that prepare people to shoulder
responsibility for themselves and lead more productive and rewarding
lives.
Other Services
We also provide consultation, program planning,
and professional contractual services to public and private organizations.
